The 9U Superstars Winter Training Program (Ages 9 & Under) program is Atlantic Baseball Academy Blue Wave‘s signature baseball league and the only program of its kind on PEI! Our 9U Superstars Winter League is perfect for the player who loves to work hard, learn new skills, and play LIVE games indoors each day while the weather is cold outside the Norton Diamond Indoor Complex! The first 1 hour of each session will be geared toward learning new baseball fundamentals and practicing, followed by a LIVE GAME for 30 minutes during each day!

The 9U Superstars Winter Training Program (Ages 9 & Under) program is led by a large group of Coaches who have “been there”, with college or professional playing and coaching experience. 

ALL Academy players will enjoy the same advantages in terms of technology, facilities, and coaching resources. This is an opportunity for a young baseball player to become introduced to the game at a live, yet instructional level. Players will learn quickly with the opportunity to play a LIVE game each day!

OBJECTIVES

  • Establish dynamic throwing, fielding, hitting and baserunning mechanics that are simple to understand and repeat

  • Emphasis will be placed on improving individual fundamentals in all facets of the game

  • Focus on improved consistency on the field and hitting at the plate

  • Developing mental awareness to ensure always prepared for the next play

  • Increased confidence with many reps of varied on-field skills

  • LIVE GAMES will be played each day!

AREAS OF DEVELOPMENT

  • Dynamic warm up routine will be applied each day

  • Progressive throwing routine will be implemented for all players

  • Proper throwing mechanics to develop a strong and consistent throw

  • Balanced hitting stance while maintaining power position at bat

  • Hitting against a firm front side and full rotation through hips and backside

  • Being strong at the point of contact

  • Proper fielding position for infielders and outfielders

  • Applying a 1-2 field approach when fielding the baseball

  • Baserunning reads of the ball from all bases

  • Become a steady, smart and consistent all around player!

All camp programming will be held at the Norton Diamond Indoor Soccer Complex located at 21 Myrtle Street, Stratford, PEI.
